The Class of 2023 is a high-achieving, motivated, and heart-felt group of significant contributors to the heat treat market. Here are two highlights from this year’s class.

José Armando Sosa Cortés is the strategic manufacturing materials competency and heat treatment lead at John Deer México, supporting all eight companies in Mexico as a heat treat expert. He also oversees a production line with hot forming, quenching, tempering, painting, and packaging. He has made other contributions to cost reduction, as well as optimized projects that helped to enhance the process capabilities and delivery times using Six Sigma (Green Belt status) strategies like DMAIC methodology. Angella Sell is a research and development engineer at Aalberts surface technologies HIP | braze | heat treatment. Apart from her work at Aalberts, she chaired the ASM Detroit Chapter from June 2020 to June 2021, and is currently vice-chair of the AFS Cast Iron Research Committee and will assume the role of chair in May 2024. With the Aalberts surface technologies HIP | braze | heat treatment group, Angella manages an R&D laboratory with a focus on working with clients on heat treatment development programs.
